How do I Apply for Employment?

You can pick up a paper application to complete from either Human Resources or from the County Attorney's Office.

You can also complete and print out an application from this website on our Employment Opportunities page.

Completed applications should be dropped off at either the Human Resources office or the County Attorney's Office.  Both are located in the basement of the Hill County Courthouse.

How do I Find the Real Estate Sheriff, Tax Sales?

They are posted on the Legal Notices board which is located on the 1st floor of the Hill County Courthouse.

How do I Report to Jury Duty?

A.

Hill County Justice Court of Record:

Check in with the Court as soon as you receive your Summons to appear as a juror.  Directions will be included in the Summons.

If you need to ask for an excusal, you must do so in writing and submit it to the Court for consideration.  You may submit your request for excusal by e-mail, fax, mail, or hand delivery.

Appear at Hill County Justice Court of Record on the second floor of the Hill County Courthouse, 315 Fourth Street, Havre, Montana, at the date and time indicated in the Summons.  The handicap parking and ramp are located on the east side of the building and an elevator is available for your convenience.

 

12th Judicial District Court - Hill County:

Upon receipt of a jury summons from the Hill County Clerk of District Court, please read all of the material over carefully and follow the steps as written.  For District Court, you will report to the Hill County Clerk of District Court office located on the second floor of the Hill County Courthouse.

How do I Obtain a Marriage License?

A.

Applicants need to complete the marriage application form and return it to the Clerk of District Court’s Office. Once submitted, an appointment will be set up to for applicants to obtain their marriage license.  The cost of the license is $53.00 payable by cash or money order.  Debit/credit cards and personal checks are not accepted.  Once issued, a marriage license is valid for 180 days and is valid only in Montana only.  NOTE:  The appointment is for the license only and does not include the marriage ceremony itself.

How do I Register to Vote?

A.

To register to vote you may print a Voter Registration Application off of this website (look under Elections tab, Voter Registration Application) or you may come into the Clerk & Recorder's Office located in the Hill County Courthouse, 1st Floor to complete the application.  The application needs to be turned in to the Clerk & Recorder's Office.

How do I Get a Passport?

A.

Forms and information are available at the Clerk of District Court’s Office located in the Hill County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, or at the Havre Post Office.  The most current information regarding passports can be found at travel.state.gov.  Please plan ahead as processing times have increased substantially over the past several years.
